I’m vibing on an 80s and 90s style lately in world. This is my look in RL, and lately in SL I’ve moved more away from high-fashion, editorial outfits towards more everyday looks. It’s something I think is incredibly underdone in SL, along with realistic avatars. I was talking with a friend about this topic today and we spoke about how it’s almost as if having a realistic look is seen as unique in Second Life because of this.

I’ve changed my avatar quite a lot over the past few months, trying to create a proportionate, realistic avatar, and I’m incredibly happy with the result. Mesh bodies and bento have allowed the Second Life sliders to have a much bigger impact, and I love it!

Long May She Reign

I love history, and I’ve always been fascinated with lineages and royal lines. The TV show Reign on The CW recently finished, and I’ve been wanting to do a look inspired by that show, which was beautifully designed. The costumes, I read, were modernised due to the outfits of their day seeming dated and garish to us. However,  for those that lived then, the clothes that we know those in that time wore were beautiful and fashion forward. So, Reign created modernised versions of those looks, to allow us to relate to and enjoy the beauty of how the clothing was perceived back then. Here’s my take on the fashions royalty wore in yesteryear!

Being back in SL after so long is such a weird experience. I’ve been discovering, falling in love with and re-falling for all these stores I love or haven’t experienced before.

I’m still experimenting with my look for my Bento head, but I’m getting closer to a final look that I really love. It’s definitely different to how Autumn has looked for many years, but it’s been fun to explore new looks and styling options! This look, however, is a hark back to my older posts that you will have seen on my blog and Flickr.

Wow. It’s been a while, eh? Over a year, one cruise ship contract and now being the rip old age of 25, I’m back on dry (and virtual) land. I was musing how Second Life has been part of my life since I was 13 years old. That’s over 10 years! This world has been a part of my life for so long, and I’m sure so many of you will agree that it feels like home, no matter how much time you take away from it. Who I am in the real world today is partly because of experiences in this world, and the people I’ve met during my time in SL.

This look, and my new appearance is an ode to the very first friend I ever made in SL, who sadly passed away in RL many years ago. I think of her often, and I wanted to do this look to commemorate how I feel she would have wanted her avatar to look with all the advances SL has made recently… J.G, this is for you!

I am so excited to be back in SL, and I can’t wait to return to blogging. I’ve missed it very much!

I’m Back! & News

Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?

After nearly a year away from Second Life and the blogging scene, I’m back in business. Along with this, I’m also reopening my old photography studio with a brand new logo for 2016, featured below!

You can all expect to see lots more of me in the future, and I can’t wait to share with you all the exciting content that I have in store over the coming months!17729052789_7d175e910e_o

Well, hello there!

It’s been six months already, apparently! Here I am, back in England, on dry land, writing this post in complete disbelief. It hasn’t hit me yet that I’m home, and it’s been 7 days since I landed back here.

I’m super excited to be back on vacation as it means that I can once again pick up my blogging mantle and get back into the swing of things. Obviously, all the things that are new to me aren’t going to be quite as new to all of my readers out there, so I’m going to hold off posting too many style looks until I spot some new releases. I did, however, want to put a little outfit together to accompany this post, which as usual you can see above!

I don’t really have much to say without turning this blog post into a mile-long rant to share with you all what I got up to in that tin can on the high seas, but this is a fashion blog, not a journal. So I’ll save you all from that- ha!

I’m super happy to be back, and as they say; watch this space!

Goodbye (For Now)

Let us start with the bad news, shall we?

Today is going to be the last post I’m going to be doing for the next 7 months. I have finally been given a date for when I leave to work on a cruise liner as an Entertainment Staff member, and as such I shall be dedicating a lot of my time over the next 7 weeks to getting myself prepared emotionally as well as packing all my bits and pieces.

I just wanted to make this post today to thank all of you for having stuck with me over these past months whilst I found my feet and settled into blogging again. It was long overdue and I am extremely happy that my posting and images have been so well received from the Second Life community.

Now, whilst this sounds like a goodbye, it really isn’t! I shall be back. Albeit in 7 months, but I shall be back! I cannot wait to return and experience all of the fantastic releases that the creators on the grid will have dedicated hours to creating. Second Life will most definitely be a completely different place upon my return. That’s what I love about this virtual world. It’s always morphing and changing.

I shall see you all in May 2015! It’s been a blast.

Love,

Autumn.

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re having a great week so far!

I’ve been slightly AWOL over the past couple of days due to the release of The Sims 4, which I have been patiently waiting for ever since I heard of it’s release and tested an early version when I worked at Eurogamer in London during October 2013. I’m having lots of fun with it, and you can see what I’m getting up to in my game by heading over to my Sims Tumblr, or ‘Simblr’ as the community likes to call it. You can find it here!

Today’s blog post is a rehash of an outfit i’ve been wanting to blog for a while, when I was having my 90s-esque phase of looks a week or so back. I recieved a couple of new releases from Truth, as well as a lovely little shirt dress from Rowne for their Collabor88 release, and decided that these pieces worked extremely well with certain other items in the original look, and et voila! Here we are.

The pants, by Baiastice, and the bracelet (which I adore!) by Izzie’s are still available to pick up at The Dressing Room FUSION for super cheap! So head over and pick these beauties up whilst you have the chance.

If any of you are playing The Sims 4 as of late and have a tumblr page yourself, be sure to give me a follow! I’ll be back and forth between this and that blog over the next couple of weeks until I start to get bored of it. Ha!

Song of The Day

Autumn

Today’s post features a hat that I think I wear way too much, but whatever. There aren’t that many good hats in SL that are versatile with many styles of hair, so I latched onto this one when it came out a couple of years ago from Celoe, and proves to (as you all have seen) still be one of my favourite pieces. The glasses from Epoque and the bracelet from Amiari are also items I often wear around the grid, and you’ve probably noticed me featuring them in many of my posts lately.

I initially thought against blogging this look, because of this fact that I wear these items too often, but my blog isn’t directed at being specific to new releases at the moment, so I thought I’d share nonetheless.

This coat by Vive Nine Ryvolter, a late release at the Uber event comes in a fantastic array of fabric styles and patterns, and definitely worth the 400L price tag. It works perfectly with Celoe’s Kenya dress that was released for the Safari Chic round of Collabor88 earlier this summer.

Friday’s new Zoe heels in the colour Autumn are absolutely darling. Can you guess why I like them? I only recently picked up the SLink high feet, but I have been picking up so many beautiful shoes for them lately that I’m super happy I finally got around to getting them.

I figured that this outfit was about reusing things and adding a couple new items to it, so I headed back to my favourite sim, Mayfair, to take this picture outside the Irish pub! I’m a wee bit tipsy now, I tell you.

I hope you’re having a fantastic hump day, and thanks for stopping by!
