I love history, and I’ve always been fascinated with lineages and royal lines. The TV show Reign on The CW recently finished, and I’ve been wanting to do a look inspired by that show, which was beautifully designed. The costumes, I read, were modernised due to the outfits of their day seeming dated and garish to us. However, for those that lived then, the clothes that we know those in that time wore were beautiful and fashion forward. So, Reign created modernised versions of those looks, to allow us to relate to and enjoy the beauty of how the clothing was perceived back then. Here’s my take on the fashions royalty wore in yesteryear!
Being back in SL after so long is such a weird experience. I’ve been discovering, falling in love with and re-falling for all these stores I love or haven’t experienced before.
I’m still experimenting with my look for my Bento head, but I’m getting closer to a final look that I really love. It’s definitely different to how Autumn has looked for many years, but it’s been fun to explore new looks and styling options! This look, however, is a hark back to my older posts that you will have seen on my blog and Flickr.
Wow. It’s been a while, eh? Over a year, one cruise ship contract and now being the rip old age of 25, I’m back on dry (and virtual) land. I was musing how Second Life has been part of my life since I was 13 years old. That’s over 10 years! This world has been a part of my life for so long, and I’m sure so many of you will agree that it feels like home, no matter how much time you take away from it. Who I am in the real world today is partly because of experiences in this world, and the people I’ve met during my time in SL.
This look, and my new appearance is an ode to the very first friend I ever made in SL, who sadly passed away in RL many years ago. I think of her often, and I wanted to do this look to commemorate how I feel she would have wanted her avatar to look with all the advances SL has made recently… J.G, this is for you!
I am so excited to be back in SL, and I can’t wait to return to blogging. I’ve missed it very much!

Makeup. Smoke and mirrors. Many of us use it every day to cover blemishes, or completely carve out a new facial structure with highlight and contour (I’m looking at you, Kim!) and we love it. It makes us feel good, and we exude confidence.
I often have people approach me to ask where my skin is from. The answer? It’s not ‘a’ skin. It’s makeup. I want to share with you the layers and 5 steps I take to get my look, due to how well received this tutorial was back in 2011 and on my now retired makeup-only blog, but this time I’m trading the crazy eyeliner and lipstick with a simple, cleaner look.
The fact is, without all of my makeups layers? I look completely different. Some may say I look better without them, some may like it with. It’s about bringing a further sense of uniqueness to your avatar, allowing you to further stand out from the crowd.
With just 5, well 6, if you count the freckles as an extra step, makeup layers, I’ve completely morphed the shape of my face, keeping only the most important feature of the Kit skin visible which for me is the nose. Now we can apply this technique with varying degrees, but it all adds towards changing how we look. Ever wanted an eyebrow shape or a nose for your favourite skin but were disappointed with how it looked on your shape? Try this! Who knows, you may love it even more.
Song of The Day
When I’m working on my images, I usually pick on a style of music or an artist that channels what overall style I’m looking to achieve in the image(s). A friend suggested to me I try out a ‘song of the day’ in my posts, so let me know if you like it!
Hello everyone, and welcome to autumnashdene.wordpress.com, my own little slice of the internet that I am thrilled to present to you all today!
To those of you who may not know of me through my Flickr or Plurk, I have recently retired my two previous blogs, FACETOFACE (a SL makeup blog) & STATURE (a fashion blog) in favour of creating a brand new online presence that will contain all types of blogging and photography, whatever their angle may be.
First and foremost, I am a photographer. Posts on here may be anything from a simple photoshopped image of a client (or myself!) through to a brand new makeup tutorial following the success of my ‘6 Steps to Glam’ post back in 2011, and fashion posts. I do not have the budget to blog frequently about upcoming or current releases, and so many of the posts you see here will be a fusion of items both old and new.
Feel free to browse the links and pages that I have laid out for you to look at. You can find information on my photography services, links to my social media sites as well as information regarding review copies and FAQ.
For now, it’s been a pleasure to welcome you to my blog, and I hope that you enjoy what I have in store for you!
